Some stereotypes

In  Poland  the stereotype of student from a public school is negative. Many people think about them in a totally wrong way.

            1. It is said that these students pay for their grades.  That is why it is so easy to be in this school.   It’s true that to attend there  you have to pay, more than in state school, but it does not mean anything.

2. People say that if you are not very smart or you are lazy, spoilt by parents  and you have  money, you  will be perfect  as a public school  student.  They sometimes ask: ‘If it is not true, than what do you pay for? It would be easier to go to school where you do not have to pay.  Well, the answer to that  question would be that we pay to have smaller class (15 students on average), to have a better contact with the teacher (best teachers teach where the pay is higher), also to have good  school equipment.

I am one of public school students and I really do not like this kind of  thinking. I definitely do not agree with these opinions.

It  is sad, but some really think public school students are just spoilt, stupid children that do not know what to do with there money. But  that is why I am writing this text, to  tell the truth.   The stereotype is only a stereotype, and in this case it is wrong. It would be much better to treat each other as friends or peers - not public or state school students.
